"Bounce Abuse: the story of a Road-side Romeo" - How we take care of something or someone who helped us!

As I got out from the delivery vehicle after being assembled, on to the stickering shop for a makeover to enhance my already glowing body in bright yellow, I was excited looking forward to my upcoming roles BOUNCING along with my fellow colleagues, who also followed the same routine. I was named "Romeo". The Road-side Romeo.
We were taken again back on the vehicle on a comfy ride into the city where my colleagues got dropped off and I wasn't sure of my drop location, but I was still excited though to get my wheels on the road.
Finally my drop spot came and I was carefully dropped along with a few of my colleagues in a space called "Bike Rentals".
I was happy chilling under the shade before I could just get a feel of it, got a beep "Tring" which ignited the first life in me and from then on its never looking back "vroooooom.. vroooooooommmmmm.." across the streets around the coffee spots, parks, malls and luxury streets which was indeed the ride of my life. I was still excited and happy about my job of helping people travel and get from one place to other.
One fine day, got a "Tring" again when a person whom I think was well groomed and was in a hurry looking at his body language took me and dropped me at a deserted place which I haven't yet been and it was almost pitch dark. Before I could realise where am I, two strong built individuals came whom I thought was going to help me, actually lifted me and started undoing my nuts and bolts and took away the wheels. Poor me wasn't created to even scream out, I mean honk out atleast to cry for help.
As the sunrise came I got to know that I was in the city outskirts and I couldn't see anybody around even at a distance. I kept waiting waiting for someone to come and help me around as I could barely move without my wheels.
The stranded Romeo!!
Finally I could see a person rushing towards me (who I think also got stranded like me in this deserted place) only to see his back again after he found that I had no wheels.  I was sad that I couldn't help him.  I was rejected and felt dejected. I only wanted to help people said an inner voice in me longing for help myself. But now I am stranded nowhere and as the noon approached with the sun high up in the sky I felt roasted and could hardly stand on my one leg, sorry my one wheel. Finally a vehicle came to pick me up which had similar colleagues like me who got dropped off the other day in similar conditions and some even worser with no head lamps, mirrors broken and damaged body. I was not alone.
Soon all excitement came down as I was taken to the garage to fix me and soon I realized that this won't be the last time either looking at the others too around me going through a very hard time getting their lives back at the garage.
A big thanks to the wonderful hands of the mechanic, who I felt as God sent for resurrecting me and my colleagues and the happy face started to smile as the head lamps glowed in full bloom, engine sounds roaring and newly fitted tyres to catch the streets again.
We were again dropped at certain spots to help the needy who required transport. Before I could get the fresh air, the sound of the "Tring" again got my engines roaring and I was flying past the city, my got this rider is purely a racer. As the wind brushing past my face I felt the real meaning to my creation. The speed went past the limit and waittttt!! waitttt!! brakes brakes!! brakes!! which I was yelling, fell on deaf ears as my face got smashed against a truck and broken into pieces. I looked back to see what happened to the rider who got saved by the Helmet he was wearing that I used to offer people for protection. Even though I was shattered, I was happy the rider was safe.
The vehicle came again and took my shattered parts together and back to the garage. This time it was a life and death situation for me as the God sent Mechanic tried his best to reset me. But with a few key parts missing I was in need for a donation as I was now rated old and can't afford to buy a new spare. Thanks to a older colleague who was almost at his last breath lying next to me offered the much needed spare to ignite my life back in me.
Again I was back on the streets to help people get from one place to other.
But it was never the same excitement nor the same thrill of riding where I was under the constant fear of being stranded midway without fuel, my parts getting robbed away, missing helmets and all sorts of abuses which no one can imagine too. The sound of "Tring" which I liked, now became terrifying and the one which I never ever  wanted to hear again. After all I was just trying to help people travel and get from one place to other.
The Romeo's heart indeed bouncing away and the engine shuts down.. .. .. ..!!

Take away message:
Human tendencies of how we take care of things which helps us are two folds. Either we keep it safe if it can be used again or we throw it to garbage if it can't be used again. For example a bag which helps to carry things (we keep to use again till it lasts) or a plastic bottle which helps to store water/liquids aand we throw it once the content is done.
However for things which we share and are re-usable its not the same 'safe / care' tagline is given to it especially in some contexts and by some individuals. This has been reasoned out due to various behaviors by Psychologists which I am not going to go in detail. The point is most of us DONT TAKE CARE or APPRECIATE the things or people that / who HELPS us during our need. This behavior extends into relationships too where we are attached to certain people for their benefits or help and once we get the maximum we tend to ignore or do away or break up with them.
Poor ROMEO had to take the maximum beating from our human behavior. Looks like it's been taken for granted and taken for a ride. Yes indeed its being taken for ride I should say looking at its condition around the city which is meant to help us.
So next time when you are booking your ride be grateful for its presence without which we would be stranded on the roads. Take care of it as it takes care of our ride ☺️👍
As you know how you take care of it matters how you take care of people and relationships.
A lot is required for a change in behavior though. But we can try and change a few if not all.
Happy riding and happy taking care of the things or people around who helps us :-) 👍

What is Happiness?

What is #Happiness? 💛#Money can only buy happiness up to about $75,000 – after that, it has no significant effect on our emotional well-being (Kahneman & Deaton, 2010). 💛Most of our happiness is not determined by our #genetics, but by our experiences and our day-to-day lives (Lyubomirsky, Sheldon, & Schkade, 2005). 💛Trying too hard to find happiness often has the opposite effect and can lead us to be overly #selfish (Mauss et al., 2012). 💛Pursuing happiness through #social means (e.g., spending more time with family and friends) is more likely to be effective than other methods (Rohrer, Richter, Brümmer, Wagner, & Schmukle, 2018). 💛The pursuit of happiness is one place where we should consider ditching the SMART goals; it may be more effective to pursue “vague” happiness #goals than more specific ones (Rodas, Ahluwalia, & Olson, 2018). 💛Happiness makes us better citizens – it is a good predictor of civic engagement in the #transition to adulthood (Fang, Gal...

Exercising with Masks

As gradually Physiotherapy clinics and Exercise centres begins to open up, just a friendly note or a reminder on the following: 1. Wearing mask can have an effect on your breathing (air flow restriction), so be cautious and careful when your advising exercises for an individual who is having pre-existing breathing conditions. 2. Exercises for children with masks should be extra careful, as they might not understand that difficulty in breathing is mask related. 3. During Exercises, mask can displace, which will force you to correct it especially if it goes up and covers your vision field. At this point the chances of touching your face or eyes are higher. 4. Mask can get wet during Exercises due to moisture in exhaled air or sweat or secretions. Wet mask can harbour pathogens and needs to be replaced. 5. Remember wearing mask while exercising fatigues you more, so be conscious of it and set your exercise goals accordingly. In short: Exercise is beneficial. Start slowly and pr...
